Interactive Map System
The ThaiWater website map system is one of the core services, presenting water, weather, and surveillance data in an Interactive Map format where users can toggle data layers on/off and explore each data point conveniently.
How to Use the Map
The ThaiWater website map system consists of multiple sub-menus designed for different use cases, such as:

Basic Map: Used to view an overview of the situation, such as radar data, monitoring stations, rainfall amounts, and water levels.

Storm Tracking Map: Used to track storm movement paths.

Flood / Floodplain / Drought Tracking Maps: Used for surveillance and analysis of specific situations.
Although each map has different specific content, the basic usage patterns are similar, as follows:
1. Select Data Layers
Users can toggle data layers (on/off) as needed. The system loads only the selected data, allowing multiple types of data to be viewed simultaneously on a single map.
2. Data Table
On the side of the map screen, a numerical data table is displayed, such as:

A list of stations displayed on the map

Latest values for rainfall, water levels, salinity, etc.
Can be sorted, searched, or clicked to highlight a point on the map
3. Map View
The main area of the screen shows an Interactive Map displaying spatial data, such as:

Monitoring station points (POI)
-
Storm tracks
-
Risk areas
-
Animated radar images
Users can scroll, zoom, or click to view detailed information at each data point.
Data Points (POI) on the Map
When displaying data on the ThaiWater map system, data from various monitoring stations is shown as data points known as POI (Point of Interest), which have different display formats depending on the amount of data and map zoom level. There are 2 main formats:
1. Clustered (Cluster)

Used when there are many data points in close proximity.

The system groups those points into one cluster, displayed as a large circle.

The circle displays an aggregated value (e.g., total rainfall).
-
Suitable for viewing an overview at the national or regional level.
-
The clustering level adjusts according to the map zoom level.
2. Individual Points (Individual Point)

Displays values of each station clearly and separately.
-
When zooming in, POIs change from clusters to individual stations.
-
Can click on a POI to view in-depth information, such as historical graphs or station data.
-
Suitable for in-depth analysis in specific areas.
4. POI Detail & Graph
When a user clicks on a station point (POI) on the map, or a row in the table:

The system displays in-depth station information, such as the latest value, unit, and update time.

A historical data graph is available to view trends.

5. Area Search
The map system supports area search to help users access data quickly. Type an area name in the search box, such as:

Region, province, district, sub-district, and watershed names
-
Monitoring station names
Once an area is selected, the map automatically pans to that location and highlights the relevant points.
6. Boundary Overlay
Users can toggle boundary display on the map to help interpret spatial data, including province, district, sub-district, and watershed boundaries.
Boundary lines help users more clearly see the relationship between data and geographic areas.
7. POI Cluster View
When clustering is enabled, the system groups many data points in close proximity into a large circle for an overview. The circle displays the aggregated value (or average) and uses color-coding based on data criteria, such as rainfall amount.
Users can toggle Cluster Mode on/off as needed to view an overview (clustered) or individual station details.
8. Map Layer Details
Users can select the background (Basemap) and additional map elements, such as:
